Humanities went over different cultures and subjects that revolve around humanity. I actually enjoyed this class. It allowed me to explore other cultures and how people are different one another. It also allowed me to go over my morals and biases. Every person is different and our values and outlook on life is different. I know I think differently than women who live on the other side of world. My favorite subject that we talked about in Humanities was the different Religions. There are different religions that treat women differently and I’ve always wondered how they think and how they think of the women who are also in different religious. This class gave me a real insight to that.
The link above is my foreign film critique. I loved watching this movie and I also like learning about different cultures. Now I highly doubt that Norway has Trolls but it’s good to learn about their culture and their fairytales. Here in the states we have our stories about fairytale creatures and it’s the same for every other culture in the world.
At first I really didn’t care for Humanities and I have grown to like it. It’s a good class to take. 1.Students communicate effectively In Humanities you do learn how to communicate effectively with others, by doing online discussions and discussions in class. Now I admit that I was a little more timid to speak up in class than I was on the discussions online. It’s been easier to talk about what I thought online than in class. I think many others felt the same way. But I think we all learned together and share our thoughts in class.
3. Students think critically and creatively. I do think I learned how to think critically and creatively. There were different subjects in class where you really had to think for yourself and solve issues in your own way. There were some questions that were hard to answer and you really had to know your resource to give a good response.
